I know, because I'm teaching mine these things. They're always with me when they can be, even though two are of the age where parents aren't cool anymore.

I neither said or implied my "common sense" values are universal, I'd argue that's kinda what ur doing. I'd like my hypothetical kids to be able to think critically in my absence. Yes, I'm aware I don't have kids.

Spot on. To quote an admirable man I knew in my youth, when I asked why he didn't have or want cable TV:

I already have 1 pipe full of shit attached to my house... why would I want 2?

Do not give the internet to your kids, and when you feel they are ready for some of the good available, you lock it the fuck down and whitelist.
