I think you do actually because they can still tell money left your account to buy Bitcoin and then they can tell that it left that account to buy privacy coin so they know something's going on I wouldn't trust it at all.

My understanding is bitcoin is track and traceable but privacy coins have a different quality that prevent this. It might be the case you get a knock on the door but ultimately, if you don't self incriminate they lack evidence and can't do anything. If you protect your keys they have nothing. If they want to get seriously tyrannical then we must stand up for liberty as best we are able. Make them work for it. It is generally the nature of criminals to go for the low hanging fruit or the big pay day. Position accordingly
