Charisma is being good-looking
Looking good, smelling nice can be components of charisma but aren't necessary. Shane McGowan has charisma and he looks like a drunken meth head. It is more about charm, personal magnetism that sort of thing.
Donald Trump has charisma at the high end of the charts while looking like an over grown toddler in a business suit whose mommy just took the tit away. I bet he smells great though
Shane McGowan is FAMOUS for being a very ugly singer. Trump is FAMOUS for all kinds of shit, plus he's 6'2". They don't so much have 'charisma' as they do recognition for being in the entertainment business.
Entertainers need charisma, talent is not enough. Most of them seem to get by with no talent but an excess of charisma. Trump is famous because he is charismatic. He has no discernible talent besides trolling
