Just curious if there's a reason for it. I've been telling people it's because Antifa has burned down all the lumber producing forests in Oregon. I don't know how accurate that is though.

Im a carpenter and there seemed to be kind of a lull during the worst parts of covid. We still had steady work, but people were worried about the future of their job, having people inside their home, etc. . Now that things seem to be going back to normal, everyone wants these projects done all at the same time. There is also the fact that lumber mill slowed production during covid and they are trying to catch back up. At one point 40% of all the sawmills were closed. For a while it was damn hard to find a piece of pressure treated lumber.

But for the more conspiracy-minded people, it seems like the lumber companies are now artificially reducing supply in order to charge ridiculous prices

It's called JewAnon, they can't help but see long-nose in everything.

Yeah, that was pretty terrible for a bit. And again, it seemed everyone wanted a deck at the same time.

Yeah we had two decks back to back andI was driving hours to go to four or five different lumber yards to get everything we needed. Crazy times
