What's the use of owning slaves? All my consumer goods are already made by slaves in communist China anyway, but right now I don't have to manage them. Joking aside, I'm happiest when I don't consume much, can take pride in earning/building what I have, and am surrounded only by family and friends. Maybe I lack imagination, but I can't think of what slaves would add to my life, and I'd feel shitty about owning people.
