I was so good at the stupid game. Except someone is always better. I was in my 20s joining a clan run by a 15-year-old kid. He showed me that I sucked by just using the cheapest troops (minimal upgrades) and slaughtered me.
It's good to occasionally have that kind of experience. If you don't you become an insufferable asshole.
I don't think I was ever particularly great at it but I really enjoyed it. I also loved playing Caesar III, Starcraft, Tekken 3, Diablo 2, and unreal tournament. That last was super addicting at the time, well all of them were really. But that was the best fps ever.
Quake II is what I was unstoppable at in the 90s at my local company game. Until I went online and played kids. Then I suckZored.
E: I could pull off 30 to 0 and 0 and 0 and 0 and 0 and 0 at my company. Online, I had a zero. LOL
