"What they did is provide a reference point for actual resistance."
No I mean what tangible things did it accomplish
You just gave some critical theory bullshit about how even tho it's nothing, it's really something. And then went on to goad ME into furthering the nothing cause (instead of doing a damn thing yourself)
I'm being cynical and probably more edgy than normal, but yeah you just gave me a fat line of bullshit
Am I wrong though? It's still the best example of resistance, and if nobody tries anything more, nothing will be done.
instead of doing a damn thing yourself
When I do something, will you? Or will you just use me as an example to blackpill other people?
It's simple dude, I asked what it accomplished. You gave me liberal doublethink "it's a reference point"
Ok then me taking a shit this morning is a reference point too. There now we have two reference points, and the world is not changing due to either of them
Will I do something if you do? Depends. I'm not going to go commit felonies that have no purpose or result. I'd vote or donate money to someone who actually wanted to make the state of the world improve. I'd hold up a faggy little sign like the lefties if it made a difference.
The thing is, just cuz we want things to not be this awful doesn't mean that arbitrary action brings about change.
These were people who came specifically for thee Stop the Steal protest. Nobody was planning on storming that day until they blocked the crowd in the road from getting close to the capitol and people started pushing. And then Mike Pence basically said he was going to respect the fraudulent count. That news spread through the crowd and then it became an event where actual citizen's arrests were attempted to be made. By fuckin boomers on a wednesday. These were the people the internet makes fun of for inaction.
Imagine if people came ready for such an event, in the numbers we saw that day.
In terms of it's ultimate outcome, there are the physical events the happened, and the immaterial effects on politics, and culture in the US. In terms of physical, not much did come out of it. The guy that stole Nancy Peolsi's laptop was murdered, but if he was able to hand it off, there'd be a lot of good done there. What is tangible is that a group of pissed off people were able to rush one of the most secure buildings in the US.
The immaterial that you don't want to discuss: The imagery of Biden's inauguration, surrounded by pissed off national guard troops. The event showed people how close a civil war really is. And it showed who thee cowards are, the people saying "NOOO! Don't commit felonies against our masters!" The event was very telling.
