The UK was taken over long ago. When somebody translated the bible and mass printing started, the Vatican was exposed - they had told the people that they were between them and Jesus, so they could sell letters of indulgence. To regain power, they had to teach people that the bible is just a story, replacing Jesus with gnostic and pagan believes. The Jesuits did just that, they wrote the new bible, founded theaters and literature to teach the masses, founded newspapers, schools, universities and secret societies like the Freemasons. Then they went underground, "persecuted by Rome", and infiltrated the UK as "refugees". Their theaters became cinemas and later Hollywood. Freemasons built DC. Their universities form the rulers of the world, most of them are Rhodes Scholars.

You may believe in their mythologised history, but they really gained traction together with the counter-reformation. They were part of the underground war against the Protestant nations. The counter-reformation was led by the Jesuits, who became "persecuted" to infiltrate the Protestant nations as refugees. It was a pincer movement: Theaters and schools for the masses, universities and secret societies for the elites.
Well, yes, that was a start in WWI.
We can go back further to the kings of Europe and the goldsmiths and such. Particularly the Rothchilds with the Napoleonic wars.
