I would probably say because they have a faith in God over the virus.

And I would also say that with all the lies and hysteria when they "survive" it'll serve to reinforce their faith.

Population control poison. It'll outright kill many, sterilize those who survive, and ironically leave only the elites and those least willing to comply with their agenda.
