You say "hate" like it's a bad thing, and "empathy" like its a good thing. Look around you, a world that's been promoting "love" and shunning "hate" for more than 60 years. Does this look like a good place to you? Love is nothing without hate. Empathy is a weakness when applied to those who did not deserve it, nothing good can come from projecting the traits of your mind onto those alien minds that cannot think or feel like we do. Empathy is only a strength when it is directed to your own people, and onto those who think and feel like you do, otherwise it is wasted.
