I have the 2 blue dumbbells and I try lifting a few times but man is it boring.

You're doing it wrong. You need to lift heavy and do progressive overload, everytime you lift it should be heavier than the last time. Lookup stronglifts 5 x 5 if you want a good beginner program. I promise you it will help change your life.
