The Husband of my State Rep here in Florida just said this on Facebook. Someone asked if volunteers could be an option and I think that's bullshit he said that would be Socialism. I think the Reps. should take volunteers given that the one assistant now is severely overworked and my Rep can never return phone calls or emails.

No. It is charity.

Socialism requires taking someone else's labor to give to another. Under the threat of death.

Willingly surrendering something to others in your community or nation (tribe) is an act of charity.

These are two very different things.
