It is illegal since 50's or 60's but they used to use subbliminal advertising in movie theatres to sell refreshments more by replacing a frame with like buy popcorn which you wouldn't consciously be aware of like in fight club. I'm wordering like does MSNBC and other stations have "you'll die if you don't get a vaccine" type of message. It always seems it's the TV watchers that this occurs with all the time. Even having a superlow volume message at a lower or higher hertz level than we can notice. I read somewhere that adults above a certain age cannot hear sounds above a certain level like 16hz but I'm sure it's in our mind like but not enough so we're not fully aware of the audio our brain was served. Heck even cell phones might be doing this when we sleep or even awake.

The power of subliminal messaging is extremely limited. You can inspire a flash of feeling, like lust hunger or disgust, but specific commands are impossible.

The power of subtext and social signaling is absurd. Ericksonian hypnosis is so powerful it makes a mockery of free will.

So the answer is maybe. Maybe to spike the emotional content of the programming. Doesn't do much good otherwise.

I realize that, I was referring to making people afraid of the "killer virus" so they don't even use their logical mind and question stuff and just do it because "death is scary" mode on the ones that just are not aware of anything and that no one would be that malevalent. It would make the fight or flight go straight to must listen to doctor or my horrible end is going to happen and only that needle can prevent it.
