I remember growing up in the 90's and the media hated this guy (gang member, promoting gang violence, etc) However based off of my very simple and limited searches now (which is more than your average NPC will do) I can't find anything negative.

Agreed. But can you find anything pre 2000's from the MSM saying what a nigger he was?

I remember them hating on the guy... but now he seems to be a saint.

My friends used to listen to his music. I don't remember him having a bad reputation. I think some people disliked him only because of his swearing, and use of drugs. But he got clean later on.
