I work for a very large company. Right now im trying to figure out how i can get fired. I want them to pay out the severance, but they absolutely refuse to do so. They want to do all this PIP stuff instead for underperformance, but it feels so draining, all i want is the severance check, is that too much to ask for?!

Can you catch the corona virus and use the permanent brain fog to get disability and then not return to work when required to, generating a firing?

Companies classify that as "failure to show" and will write you off as quitting. That's also what the underperforming PIP stuff is trying to encourage him to do too is to quit.

He could say that he feels singled out and that they are using the PIP to create a hostile workplace in an effort to force him out. Mention that you are going to consult an attorney. It is a serious move, but may trigger a severance offer to avoid a legal battle. Even if it is a dog of a case.
