With large companies it is definitely hard to get fired without doing something really bad, hence the lazy and mostly useless workers in them.
Definitely. Ive got a $70k severance written into my contract in case of dismissal. Of course, there are stipulations. I don't think I'd be able to just start slinging N-bombs around and still get paid out. That being said, if someone in HR had to deal with an unreasonable complaint from the diversity hires it would likely be easier to just pay me off and send me on my way.

Companies classify that as "failure to show" and will write you off as quitting. That's also what the underperforming PIP stuff is trying to encourage him to do too is to quit.

You don't get unemployment for getting fired for cause, period? The only way I can draw unemployment is if I get laid off, i.e., there's nothing for me to do within the company and they can't justify paying me.

If you're evil, file a lawsuit claiming some sort of discrimination or other bullshit. Generally, no matter how insane your claim is, they'll settle for $100k-$200k because it costs more to litigate. I saw 3 different women do this to 3 different companies, all 3 claims were entirely baseless.
