Men live more dangerous lives in general, we take up the profession of war at a far greater scale. Men die earlier in life then women. (many say its because we want to at the end of things) So the problem of the widower, wasnt addressed, because its not a common issue, even was less common in those days. You need to do you. Stop looking for a partner, be you, go out and enjoy yourself. Find some good social type hobbies you think you might enjoy. Go participate in those hobbies, conversations will sprout and relationships form and eventually you'll meet someone you share a mutual attraction with again. The key to it. don't go desperately searching for a partner. just go out and enjoy life. Be seen enjoying life. Let that be your calling card. Worst case scenario. You do end up not ever meeting anyone. You've lived a fulfilling life and enjoyed your time here.
