That would be a huge waste. The laboratory rats are still needed for the transhumanism experiments: Switching off the genes responsible for aging, switching on the genes for more intelligence, creating a society of robust worker bees - all of this still requires a lot of experiments and humans.

There would still be nearly 2 billion left for that.
