It's called being delusional. Usually used a a personal defense mechanism as to not feel as vulnerable and defenseless as reality dictates. Most people in this situation have never actually been in a fight. These people are easily spotted once the confrontation begins, you can watch the fight or flight instinct overwhelming them. Typically ends bad as Alcohol is usually involved.

When these people fight, they lean their heads back and move their little fists as if they are doing the dog paddle. Or you see these skinny Antifa types trying to do kicks, a second before some Proud Boy picks them up and slams them down on the asphalt. It's pathetic.

Unrelenting anger is a powerful tool. However if you explode and don’t succeed you are fucked because you have no long term fighting stamina. Better to wear them down with blocking and dodging and then make your move. My opinion.

Too much video game. Too little real world experience. Thinking it and doing it are two very different things. I can imagine myself being an awesome boxer. In reality, I'd get knocked the fuck out in the first minute.
