First of all, it's fine. I'm not concerned about the loss of internet points.

I'm just curious as to what is causing it. At first, people said it was due to upvoting flaired or suspicious accounts, but my site score was adjusted down by ten or so points since yesterday, and I haven't voted on anything at all.

Again, it's whatever. I'm just curious to know what the reason is. Obviously my title is misleading, because there must be a reason.

I'm assuming you mean the explanation in that thread.

The logic goes:

  1. Someone else upvotes me in order to increase the threshold determining how much they can downvote without catching the algo.

  2. When it's discovered, I lose the points they gave me.

  3. My site score drops.

That's complete horseshit, because I'd also see my site score spontaneously increasing by these weird increments. Yet all the changes I'm talking about are in the downward direction.

Do you really think people are not able to connect their commenting or posting behavior with the pattern of upvotes they are getting? Again, if I was suddenly seeing a fast increase in my score without a good reason, I'd be asking the same kind of question as I am here, but the point is it's only ever adjusted down by this pattern.
