I have a single cab short bed and it looks like a truck not a school bus. It turns much better too.

Why can't I buy a smaller truck, like an old tacoma size? That with 2 seats would be perfect for my uses. I ended up just getting a trailer for the car.

India gets them...

To answer your question, it is that people use the trucks as their everyday vehicle instead of just for work. It is similar to why most people are afraid of scratching their trucks.

How hard would it be to drive one legally in the US?

[–] 0 pt

they're sold legally in the US and there's no restrictions on driving them, I linked to a website that sells them. You can find a generic truck dealership and buy one brand new.

It's evolution. Pick-up trucks are evolving into sedans.

Trucks like that are for working; not enough people doing that to make it profitable.

That and the city soybois driving the biggest 4x4 they can buy on low profile tires.

They don't. You have to pay extra for that.

Because that is what sells...........

theyve actually stopped building single cabs

That’s not true. What’s more accurate is most single cabs are work trucks which have no options so the retail consumer wouldn’t want to buy them. They’re mainly fleet trucks.

as far as i know no one is building a single cab anymore. chevy certainly isnt

Back seat is good to put groceries in, and stuff you don’t want to get wet if it rains or you go through a car wash.

EPA fuel economy regulations. If it only potentially seats 2, it needs to get better gas mileage than a 4 seater.

In 2006 I bought a 1994 K1500 shortbed for 5k. These days that exact same truck would be the same price, maybe more even though it’s 25 years old. Easy to work on, cheap parts, styling looks good. The problem is everything newer is so complicated in terms of electronics that the average guy can’t fix them. Trucks now have replaced the luxury sedan. It’s really a shame.

People like having room for stuff in their cab. Pretty simple concept.

Because there are times when you want to bring more than one passenger

Because most men with trucks have family?
