I've just done a round of upgrades on phones and now have a handful of batteries to dispose of. Does anyone still take these things as recycling? It's been so long since I've been to a big-box store, I really have no idea these days.

Nigger neighborhoods,

Mosque or synagogue window,

etc.

Do what I do -- chuck them into the regular trash. Fuck this recycling bullshit. It's all a scam anyway. It cost more to recycle than it does to just bury or burn the garbage, and almost certainly has more of a negative impact on the environment. Everything we've told in the media about recycling is a lie, just like everything else we're told in the media.

I'd mail them to Nancy Pelosi.

I'm not sending that twat perfectly good recyclable metals.

Every Best Buy I've been to has bins right inside the door.

It's been years since I've been in one, maybe I'll give them a call.

They won't let you in without a face diaper so just drive up to the entrance and throw them at the COVID faggot who is guarding the door. They'll figure it out.

Your local big brand store will offer a 'free' battery recycling service. In a box

You mean the trash can?

[–] 1 pt

It looks like a bin but it says 'gibs me your valuable metals' ahem

So it's a nigger with a gun?

Downrange. Fuck it, it's already contaminated with lead.

  1. Open a search engine.
  2. Type "battery recycling (insert your city name here)"

I came up with hits, yes, but most of what's around me seems to be places that deal in commercial quantities. I'm looking for something like "Yeah, The Homeless Despot or Worst Buy still takes them" before I trundle off to a store I don't want to be in only to find out they don't take them anymore.

Aaahaaahaaha! "the homeless despot"

sigh

That really hits close to home.

I know that's petty but it's amusing to me.

My IKEA accepts old batteries and lightbulbs. Check them out if one is near you. My municipal dump has several locations were you can drop off recyclable items that are too big for the wheelie bin, or chemicals or batteries. Call your city dump and see if they have a battery recycling program, if not, if they can point you in the right direction.

Call the city's waste handling. I didn't think of that. I'll do that Monday.

I think there's one of those, but it's about 30 miles away. I seem to remember that it made a big stink when it opened, they were expecting thousands of people, shut down streets and offices around it, cops everywhere - but it was just a ho-hum thing.

Go to those stores websites. Find the phone number for your locality. Call them.

Best buy, lowes, home depot, menards, and some of the local grocery chains around here have bins at the front you can dump batteries of all types.

So far yours is about the only answer that's been useful. I remember some of those stores having points to dispose of them, but the last time I was in the Homeless Despot, they no longer had anywhere to do that. That may just be the local store, however. Not sure there's a Best Buy around here anymore, will have to see where the nearest one is.

looks like your 'best' bet if you can find one local.

I was actually just there this week and didn't notice any drop boxes, but I wasn't looking either. They always have staff at the front door, I'm sure they can help you.

*edit

Customers can get rid of their old or unwanted appliances and electronics in several ways:

Recycling kiosks — Every U.S. Best Buy store has kiosks, just inside the front doors, to drop off rechargeable batteries, wires, cords, cables and plastic bags.

But that means I have to go to Best Buy. Oh well, I guess we all need to do things that are distasteful once in a while.

Serious questions demand serious answers.

Also for some of these places you might have to talk to the customer service desk, I don't know why they did it but some places put the bins behind employee only areas now. Good luck, and if you can't find anything you can also check out your local city/county recycling center (Like the normal recycling centers that take cans/cardboard) and see if they might have a bin for electronics.

The only county recycling place we have here is in a part of town that a white person does not go to, and it's open exactly a few hours a week. So that's probably out.

I'll check at stores I go to and see what they offer. Used to just chuck them in the recycle bin at my job, but I don't work there anymore.

Bury them in your garden... They're excellent fertilizer.

Sell them to your local meth cook
