Would you like to have a new setting that lets you decide how this feature will behave?

For example, having several choices such as:

  1. Posts don’t show up (current behavior)

  2. Posts show up, but are dimmed (20%)

  3. Posts show up, but have a red left border.

Posts don’t show up (current behavior) > This is the default one.

If you can't understand that, there's nothing I can do for you.

Projecting that users will be confused by a default setting, shows you're confused.

Predicting that users will be confused by unnecessarily complicated settings, shows you're confused

Failing to understand that users will, in fact, be confused when they change to a non-default setting and it doesn't act as they expect from the default setting shows that you are very new to software development and/or not very good at it.

Failing to understand that there's a User Guide page you more than likely haven't read, or you wouldn't be so confused.
