People as a whole definitely need to relearn canning/pickling/fermenting, many will be forced to. I have family in northern Maine and they ALL make pickles, jellies, mustards, etc. every fall that they eat throughout the winter, and these are not off grid types., but they just know how to do it like we know how to go to the store and buy pickles.
