I'd have worked on my people skills, leadership and social networking.
These are far, far more powerful than some job.
I don't want to toot my own horn, so I'll just power through it: but I already have people skills, people look up to me, and have no problem being a social butterfly (when needed). It's not about the job— it's about what you want to do with your life. What you're choosing to sink all of the finite hours that you have left to live, into. Anyone who's above a certain IQ threshold can learn to be eloquent and likeable: just read "How to Win Friends and Influence People," and you're set. That's literally what I did, and then put in to practice back when I was, like, 19.
To this day, I still think I could get in to politics (and have seriously thought about it, at times). But what I'd really like to do is help push humanity forward: especially "in these trying times". Use my hypothetical knowledge about the fundamental building-blocks of existence, and my deep-rooted faith in Christ, to help do his will on this Earth as it is done in Heaven.
I refuse to go gentle in to that good night; still got at least a few good decades left on me. Hopefully I put them to good use, is all.

Go for it. Run against a zionist and have this on your campaign material:
A zionist in Isreal is a patriot. A zionist anywhere else is a traitor.
