There wasnt some single black mom who secretly built and drove the car and had a forced love affair w Carol Shelby or and of the tedious normal modern movie bullshit. The drama came from the story of some guys building a car so they could race in suicidal conditions because... Well because its awesome. And there was a lot of money involved. But mostly because its at least partially insane and bad ass.
