So in other words, if man essentially creates the concept of time, man can do with it as he pleases. Daylight savings was initiated so farmers could rise earlier in the summer time to take advantage of the daylight.

It keeps farmers/ranchers on a similar schedule to the bankers in the cities. There's no real reason for it anymore.

Thankfully I don't have to mess with Daylight Savings but I do occasionally figure out the time zone differences because I have friends all over.

The way I remember(could be wrong) learning was that it was made for farmers so they could know what hours they could do their business before it gets too dark.

For anyone else it's pretty useless.

It's useless for farmers as well. They schedule their day around the daylight, not a clock.
