It's true that traditional cooperation is important for the thriving of society. I would like to note that the cooperation contract has changed to to #1) falling wages #2) increased parenting demands.

Women aren't the only ones who have lost their purpose. Men too have lost their purpose as well. Their wages have decreased, and it causes all kinds of negative effects. Consider that most under 35's cannot afford to buy a home without the help of a parent. So men are now renting their homes and don't have the opportunity to learn traditional male crafts. It's a sad thing that a garage workshop is becoming a luxury. Consider that men cannot afford for their wives to take extra time off for children, and the health issues that come with them. Everything around modern men is designed to be thrown away and is nearly impossible to fix.

Back in the old days parenting was very different. Children roamed the neighborhood and entertained themselves. There are modern demands on parents that didn't exist. My great grandmother had 13 kids. She was able to feed her family, clean the house, and make money on the side because parenting demands were much less than today. One modern day kid takes the same effort as multiple children back in her day. Thus you will always have to help out around the house, because your wife will not be able to do everything herself.

It's not that parents today are pansies. It's that parents today, on both sides of the political spectrum, are more involved and focused on children's welfare than ever before. Of course we could argue that many are misplaced, and have unhealthy ideas, but that's besides the point.

If you want a stay at home wife, you can have it! The rich guys have it. If you don't believe me, plan your next vacation to visit the hamptons (long island ny). You will see housewives flaunting their children up and down old, vibrant, main streets. Elderly women who raised their children walking dogs, or on their way to an exercise class. You will see retired men chatting in a local coffee shop. Middle aged men taking their well dressed families out to the local restaurant, where they sit nicely and behave. It's incredible.

You can have that wifey but you have to out earn two average salaries, so basically your base take home pay should be in the 100-150k range. You should probably just start a business, it's the fastest way to that kind of income.
