While my wording above was poor, the fact that the sex split in sexually dimorphic species is usually 55% female, 45% male remains unchanged. male-favored is actually correct (https://ourworldindata.org/gender-ratio). I don't know if my genetics prof taught me that wrong or I've just had it backwards in my head all these years. Thanks for calling me out on that.
