Don’t have any hard evidence but I heard the British government tried throttling German imports by forcing a “Made In Germany” label on everything. And the ppl loved German products so much it totally backfired and became an endorsement they actively sought out after that.

Was just listening to this podcast on the Irish potato genocide (oops I mean famine) and the author mentions Churchill’s roll in the 1943 Bengal Famine that killed 3 million ppl. And some other genocide in India that killed approx 25million, that there’s apparently photos of 100s of Indians with their hands chopped off, the same way the British did to the Irish.
The mention is somewhere in the last half. But the whole thing is pretty good.
