Fewer than 250,000 died in the camps all together, and more Poles died in Auschwitz than did jews… I’d venture it’s not much more than 200,000 jews total.

I have seen that number before but I want to know how that number came to be. Evidence is what I am looking for when I think about it.

I have seen people talk about the official numbers being reduced over the years but I cant find it.

The number was presented by the Red Cross in the late 1970s. It wasn't until probably 20 years later the 6,000,000 number started getting bandied around.

This is patently false. Ridiculous numbers were being thrown around immediately after the war. Including at Nuremberg. Students were taught muh 6 million in schools throughout the 50s and 60s.

The Red Cross did a post-war study on the records kept at all the camps. From these records they were able to determine the number of deaths that were at least recorded at each camp. During the Zündel trial, () these IRC records were presented as legal evidence in court. Public access to those records is totally forbidden now, but they still probably exist in physical form somewhere.

That mostly refers to the plaque at Auschwitz, which keeps getting changed. Every time it is changed, the number of Jews said on it to have been killed gets fewer.

why does it even matter? Do label them as anything other than perpetrators of the greatest genocides in history is a kosher narrative

The supposed "Holocaust" is not the number of Jews who died during WW2 -- lots of people died during WW2 from a wide varity of causes, both natural and unnatural. It's the number of Jews who supposedly were killed by the Nazis, either directly with weapons, or through harsh treatment, starvation and neglect. The "Holocaust" is not concentration camps, because other countries had concentration camps for potentially traitorous ethnic groups. The "Holocaust" is the supposed "murder machines" of the hypothetical "death camps" where conjectured "gas shower rooms" were used to "exterminate" Jews in large groups. The evidence we have today indicates that it is highly doubtful that even one "death camp" actually existed. The entire "Holocaust" was created by Jewish myth-making during and after the war.

About all Jews can legitimately say is that they were overtly hostile toward the Nazi regime (most communists were Jews), they engaged in dissent and tried to undermine that regime, and as a consequence, were rounded up and put into concentration camps to prevent them committing acts of treason and terrorism. They didn't like being put into the camps. All kinds of insane stories started circulating. "What are the Nazis going to do with us? Did you hear that they are making soap from our dead bodies? Somebody knows somebody who heard the story that some Nazi commander has a lampshade made from Jewish skin." That's the real Holocaust -- Jewish myth-making, expanded to insane levels after the end of the war.

Based on the documented jewish population before and after the war the jewish population of Europe fell by 500-600k during the war when it should have increased by about 300k over that many years in peacetime. This, however, includes those emigrated.
