Ok so let me throw my hat in the ring here. Texas at the state level isn't connected to other states. So if they cannot generate enough power its hard for them to "let it in" from outside the state. Temperatures caused a pipeline that was not "winterized" to burst or have problems. The Biden administration would not allow coal-fired power plants to ramp up production. The price of natural gas went through the roof as the demand rose. The natural gas companies are the ones who robbed everyone. But hey its a free market and the price is not regulated because of that. We dont want more regulation and unfortunately its going to happen because of it. All prices of electricity will be going up as soon as the green new deal is mandated. I think the thing that people dont realize is they have to pay the power company to maintain the power lines regardless. There is no Off-grid answer.
