Yeah there needs to be a new law made to prevent ISP monopolies and ISP oilogopolies along with addressing the concerns that people had with net neutrality being repealed. Mainly, they don't want their internet rates to go up and they don't want their internet to get slowed in favor of bigger services like Netflix getting to load their stuff faster. There's preexisting laws to prevent some if not all of this. It would be a good to have a new law so it clears up the confusion and calms people down. This should be done on the state level mainly and whatever interstate stuff should be taken care of at the federal level
Honestly none of those laws would be necessary if we just enforced anti trust laws. Almost every major corporation is negotiating with competitors and agreeing on everything from wages prices and everything else so they do not have to compete. Wages stagnating force competition for employees. Prices too high allow another competitor willing to accept lower profit margins into the market. We need competition its what makes capitalism work. Currently collusion is the name of the game and its ruined everything from the economy to the government.
Yeah like the biggest ignored complaint I've heard are colluding ISPs. That's the big thing the government needs to address. They make deals with each other to stay out of certain areas so they can all make their money and not have one put the other out of business
Its not just ISPs almost all big business is doing this type of thing, its a real problem.
