NO! The most skilled people in computer engineering biography books (Programmers at Work, 1989) and anecdotally, got hired right after high school and skipped college. This includes much of Apple, Microsoft, and even later years apple such as Apple's elite BLUE MEANIES team.
HOWEVER a non programmer, called a recruiter or HR person likes to look for college graduates, not for knowledge, but for "follows through" "puts up with shit" "has goals".
college ruins the best programmers, but if you are not a super genius, then get a degree but you will hate it and you will never ever ever admit you have one to other programmers you admire.
