Shootings would not get to zero but the use of tasers sure would go way up. Instead of using arguments and commands and bodily force they'd just whip out the taser. BTW tasers are just less than lethal, not non-lethal. A lot of people can't handle the jolt. But of course that's not what they are advertised as and that's not how cops use them.

Tasers should not be used. They should be replaced by white men over six feet in height, with no fat on their bodies, who work out regularly and are well trained in hand-to-hand combat, restraining holds, and habituated to rough and tumble and taking a punch in the face now and then.

The caller is so tranquil about his 'kid' trying to kill the rest of his fucking family. Honestly, the cops should have just let nature run its course. If any of my kids turned out that stupid, I'd make sure to fucking shoot them myself and fix the mistake I had made.

It wouldn't go down to zero, but I think a step up from a taser wouldn't be a bad idea. A taser rifle capable of more consecutive shots, longer and higher velocity prongs for punching through thicker clothing and, higher voltage for those rare few who seem to shrug off normal taser voltages.
I bet you could design a heavy duty taser like that to fit as an under barrel attachment so the officer wouldn't lose access to lethal options either.

Hey man. I get why they shoot these assholes. I'm just saying it's 2021, and we still can't make a fucking taser that works? When tasers fail, even the cops end up getting shot or stabbed. Maybe they should just switch to elephant tranquilizer darts.

The problem with tranqs is that, to stop a criminal before he could do damage, they would have to contain nerve toxin (nothing else is fast-acting enough) and nerve toxin tends to kill people.
