The ban should be called the "scary rifle ban." It would be a more accurate title for this law. Banning "assault rifles" (whatever they are) was done for the same reason switchblades were banned -- scary associations in the minds of frightened people. The switchblade is just a locking-blade knife with a self-opening feature that allows it to be easily opened with one hand. But when women hear the term, they imagine an Italian dude in a black leather jacket with a cigarrette hanging from the corner of his smirking mouth. So switchblades are still banned. My advice -- paint your assault rifles pink.
