I've got my eye on the Nokia 5310, but would be interested to hear if anyone else has a feature phone that they like.

Obviously the main thing is to be able to make calls, but sadly it seems like a lot of these feature phones go sooo cheap that they have issues with that. (Sticking buttons, crashing, poor call audio quality, etc)

I don't even care if it's expensive. I just want a working phone that isn't a big, gay, buttonless screen.

I’m looking at this

Me too. Thinking about getting this as a second phone. Not ready to give up browsing 4chan on mobile yet. But I'm really waiting to see what Starlink does with a phone...

Right and right :) my current phone is old enough, I’ll be switching up soon

That looks very interesting. Kind of in between a smart phone and a dumb phone. I like that you can give up a lot of the crap without losing the features that basically amount to you getting left behind (no MMS capabilities, etc). I'll have to look up some reviews, because my only hesitancy is that maybe it's one of these independents that comes up with a great concept but executes poorly.

Same thoughts from me, looks great but I’ll wait for a review or two. That said, last I looked they were sold out of certain colors so they are moving.

If it's for sale there's definitely someone on youtube who has done it. Just need time to look it up and when i do i'll ping you

curious if the old Nokia brick would still be useable. those things were damn near indestructible.

If you still have one I'm sure it is. I miss that. Cell phones were once damn near magic.

They are turning off 2G and 3G. My perfectly good, ancient phone will become useless, so I'm trying to find something that will survive my pocket.

I havent heard of anyone sunsetting GSM when is that

I first heard from a T-Mobile employee. I confirmed it online. 2G is already off in some areas, 3G is slated to be turned off, probably by the end of this year or next--I forget exactly. I just know that at some point I wall have to buy a phone that will not last as long as my current one has.

That actually looks pretty cool

lol. It would be worth getting just to use to voice changer feature every once in a while.

They mostly run a stripped down version of android. Nothing is sacred.

A useless comment. Don't ever reply to me or my wife's son again.

I'm currently using a Kyocera DuraXTP. I throw it regularly and it hasn't had any issues from my abuse.

Kyocera DuraXTP

I will check it out thanks.

I don't think you can get them new, but they have newer feature phones at their site.

Yeah, same with that nokia 5310 i was looking at. And nokia's newer feature phones don't look that interesting. But i will check out kyocera.

Look into . They're designed to be used by people looking to digitally detox. Could be just what you're looking for

[–] 1 pt

That looks sexy as hell. Will have to dig into some reviews later.

it looks like they have two versions now. One that is a true dumb phone, and another that tethers to a traditional phone for limited functionality. If they come out with a qwerty version i'll buy it.

Get a pebble phone.
