I saw by and it got me thinking about the other Sam Hyde posts I've seen. I've never, ever finished one because they're too long, meandering, and I never know what point he's trying to make and/or if he has one. It's like going to the middle of an essay without a thesis that switches topics midway through with just a dash of rant/word soup.

What on earth is interesting about this guy? The only remarkable thing I can see is that his mother didn't drown him in a bathtub after seeing his misshapen face.

His old standup was ahead of it's time. The TED-X took a lot of balls. MDE had a couple of good sketches/moments (the water one, jews rock, the dating show).

I watch his lil'shitpost content from time to time, all those things you said are true it's intentionally vague, meandering, his humor requires too much build up (even in the old standup there is a good 20-30 minutes of uncomfortable awkwardness that would eventually become humorous once you realize what is happening) not exactly the first choice for content but I watch is sometimes. It has some funny moments too (how to handle credit card debt and used car sales come to mind) and there are some interesting nuggets in there regarding the fall of Adult Swim. It's not usually all that political either (the hottest take he gave was during the riots), he spends most of his time trying to give fatherly advice while also being sarcastic and abrasive as hell. In a sense he's Jordan Peterson for retards. If he is a controlled op J (he does have the look) they are doing a good job of throwing flak at him cause his career is very over.

Lastly the MDE sub from back in the day was one of the best core groups of shit posters on reddit.

The ted talk isn't all that funny, except for the fact that he's not supposed to be there and us as viewers know that, so it magnifies the funnyness of what he's saying. But just to watch it on its own it is not all that funny. But idk thats just my opinion. His early "stand up" shit was undeniably pretty funny though at least some of it. It was at least very confrontational to a group of people that I am not fond of, so it made me laugh to watch them kvetch.
