I don’t want government involved in my marriage. Happy to take a bow before God and let that be enough. What are the legalities of marriage that make it beneficial?

I didn't want legal marriage but my husband did, so we got married. I am grateful for it now because without it I would have had no control over his funeral or where his remains ended up.

Civil union would take care of that.

Where? In California, it was only gays and seniors that could get civil unions. This was before gay marriage was legalized. I don't know if anyone can any more.

Irrelevant.

Not how I learned it. Pathetic boomers that sold out their nations go to hel, no loopholes.
