I have every problem with the block feature also blocking me from responding to you at all - that is a step too far and only creates an echo chamber with censorship.
Ah. You mean blocking responses can suppress disagreement. I recall someone else, or maybe it was you, had made this point before. I get it, but it still would open up for people to write nasty things about a user that cannot see their comments. I don't believe people block users mostly to stop disagreement. If that were the case, your suggestion would work much better.
The users I am referring to have a history of blocking people MOSTLY to stop disagreement.
I told you one doesn't believe in free speech (or at least cares more for freedom of association) and the other has some kind of controversial past. I think you'll need more than 2 users for your change to be implemented. You'd have to know more people block more to stifle disagreement than to block pests.
I'm not looking to make a change to the rules.
I'm merely stating that I believe this change in the rules will not end well, and will prevent me from significant contribution.
