I mean they monitor literally everything online at all times. No doubt they are tracking trends in online political discourse. I think they're seeing right wing/red pill/conspiracy stuff explode in popularity online and so they know they have to rush before awareness reaches a critical mass. That's why propaganda (calling everyone to the left of Mao a nazi, etc.) and censorship are going into overdrive now. They are desperately trying to control the spread of information. Sort of like in a pandemic... lockdowns, masks, and social distancing also help in preventing people redpilling each other in person where propaganda and censorship fail online and in the traditional media.
