Obviously it is the Japanese and Scandinavians/Nordics. Older books from around the early 1900s make the same observations. Isn't it funny then that apparently these were the two evil groups of the last war who committed all the barbary?

I mean of course most of us here are aware that's not true and the nazis were held to a strict code of honour during warfare. The local French seem to have nothing but glowing reviews for them. Only the communist saboteurs who copped appropriate punishment play the victim and lie to paint a completely biased picture. Then when the nazis started losing we saw true barbarity from the allies.

But what about the Japs? Apparently they were brutal. But if you look just below the cover you'll suddenly find that they likewise did not kill Chinese indiscriminately as so many documentaries claim. They instead overlooked the normal Chinese people and only went after the Communists. Apparently they would often check the bodies of citizens for Triad tattoos because they were with the commies. I don't know what else is true, but I'm certain if I was bias-driven I could easily paint a similarly evil picture of how Americans treated the gooks during the Vietnam War.

I don't know so much .. I worked on Australian construction projects for forty yrs, the Japanese engineers who were on site from time to time were the surliest, bad tempered SOB's I ever encountered in the industrial workplace.

Can confirm.. at least one jap is a bad tempered SOB.. Worked on an engineering project with 3 japs who came over. 2 were great, 1 was a son of a bitch. The good 2 japs pulled me to the side one evening after a few beers to confess to me how much they hated that bastard jap. Funny as hell.

I similarly worked occasionally with Jap engineers on some oil & gas projects in S.E. Asia. They were extremely dedicated to the job and very formal in their approach to anybody regarding work matters. They were very surly & not interested in engaging socially, until that is, the end of the contract when we were unexpectedly invited for a night out. Some type of 'social switch' was flipped & they became, after only a few beers a pack of raucous drunken hooligans. There is drunkenness, & then there is the type that leaves partially clad bodies strewn over the bar room floor emitting uncontrollable laughter as some type of nonsensical 'drinking game' is pursued. If you think you can drink, try drinking with a group of Jap salarymen and keeping up the pace-

The Irish and the Russians. But you have to catch them while they are drunk. Which, fortunately, is not difficult.
