I heard they're a cult.
They're only a cult because they actively campaign against the left. See how that works?
They campaign against the Chinese government and for their leader. They're willing to paint their cause as an ally to the American right, but we don't have to buy it.
I just rent it a little.
Just remember: - One man's cult is another man's religion.
No different than: - One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
Good rule: when you 'hear' something, ask what the source is wanting you to believe. Understanding that will help you discern the truth. The Chinese gov't labels them as a cult to prevent US sympathizers as the word 'cult' is a bit of a trigger for westerners.
We don't have to like them simply because the Chinese government doesn't. I watched which helped me realize it's best to be neutral towards the Falun Gong because they're trying to to use anti-China sentiment as a cover for their own nonsense. Every cult is someone's religion, but not every religion should be trusted.
