That's like saying anything is possible, of course it is but logic would dictate that it is at minimum 100 years more advanced than current technology. That would be the logical assumption given the rate of technological improvements over the past 100 years.
My point is this: based on past trends, it may be projected that the Tic Tac tech plane is , let's say, 500 years away from being developed.
However, all it would take to make it possible in 20 years vs. 500 is a the right genius at the right time.
Imagine if only Newton never existed, or Charles Babbage never designed the differencing engine (foundation of modern computing), technology we have today would seem 100s of years away at this same period in time. All because one genius never existed.
The main factor limiting us from developing a Tic Tac tech plane is a superior propulsion system. Someone comes up with a groundbreaking alternative to modern propulsion and BAM, military owns that person and their work, develops it, and within a decade we've got aircraft that would otherwise have taken hundreds more years to develop.
Just a thought.
