I don't know much about the organization, though they appear to be an age old Christian charity. But if you're just looking to shed clutter around the house, it's a great place to donate usable 'things' to. You can also wander their stores and find a bargain from time to time from the things others have dropped off.

SLvation army is a wonderful Christian organization. They will feed house and cloth anyone who needs help. They are my go to charity and I always donate what I can to them.

Don't take my word for it. Better to use the search terms and scrutinize the results for yourself. I don't say that to paint them in a bad light as they do indeed do some good work. I say it rather to highlight that they, like many "christian" charity and non profit organizations, deviate greatly from what an individual would come to understand of Christian doctrine.
