They tell us it’s an anti semetic conspiracy theory but I remember reading some really good sources on this years ago. I’ll do some digging but was hoping folks could help me.

Definitely a bit familiar on Simon of Trent (may he Rest In Peace).

Everything I’m finding works hard to call it a myth.

Ariel Toaff (a respected jewish academic) wrote a book called "Blood Passover" which discussed the history of ritual jewish killings. It was denounced and discredited by the usual suspects.
