The only thing I have found is that White people in South Africa did this to maintain White minority control, maintain control of the economy and basically have the economic upper hand over the Black South Africans.

“Why” seems pretty obvious imo. Why they didn’t just shut the boarder and start transporting the invaders North seems like a much better question to me.
