If they were having trouble getting ammo it would be highly sensitive information and we (the plebs) would not know for a long time. The US military has enough stockpile to wage war for an a good bit before needing resupply... They could hide this for years and we would not know

Nope military gets first priority. Commercial ammo 2nd and reloaders third on components.
