Trying to come up with a gaming PC for my son and don't want to waste money on garbage parts due to my painfully outdated knowledge of game box parts. If there is someone hear willing to put a list of parts together for me so I can track them down and buy them for my son, that would be awesome. I'm hoping for around a grand price tag. If left up to me, I can see myself buying some shit ,only to find out a major malfunction with said part. I'm by no means made out of money and want to get it right the first time.

Gracias.

"Go Fuck Yourself!" There I got it out of the way for ya. ;)

Agreed, mostly due to the elephant in the room that no one has touched: GPUs are fucking impossible to find right now, unless you're fine paying jew scalpers 3-5x their worth.

Disagree about consoles; they're one trick pony, walled garden shitboxes.

You can buy a prebuilt and strip it. You're looking at 20-40% loss on the turnover.

Not so much true anymore. The Xbox series X can do everything that most people use a PC for. It can go online, watch videos and play video games.

It is also a 3700x, 2080ti build for fucking 500. Even if you hate consoles you have to admit that is an insanely good deal.

It is also completely keyboard and mouse compatible.

Even if a person needed a PC you could buy a $300 laptop and Xbox series X for $800.

You're going to spend well over $2000 to get something as powerful as the Xbox series X in PC form

They're still walled gardens, and all of those features they come with are the feautures you're stuck with, which is the antithesis of the PC experience.

The only reason they're specced so high at affordable prices is because they are mass produced with exclusive hardware and sold at a massive loss. The profit comes from software publishing deals, services, and collected data.

It doesn't matter why they are cheap to buy, that's completely irrelevant. The fact is you get an absolute beast of a gaming machine for 500 bucks. Saying an absolute beast is not an exaggeration either, both the ps5 and series x are impressive by any standards.

Bottom line is if you just plan on primarily gaming it makes so much more sense to buy one of these new consoles.

If you need a PC for normal everyday use it still makes so much more sense to buy an Xbox series x and a mid range or inexpensive laptop.

You're still going to only be in half the price of what you would spend to build something equivalent in PC.

You can't really refute any of this stuff I'm saying. Building a $1,000 gaming PC right now is a terrible move, it will be crap if you can even find a GPU.

No joke. I fail to get why everything is out of stock except for crypto miners or scalpers.

Intentional underproduction to draw out demand coupled with a massive increase in demand far beyond previous years

That was my thought when they announced the 3000 series at reasonable prices and paper launched it.
