I have three issues with websites which constantly aggravate me:
Autoplay videos. I'm scrolling along, reading text, then suddenly get blasted by the audio from a video that has auto-started. Then I have to scramble to find the offending video. Along the same line, I hate "floating videos" which follow you down the right side as you scroll.
Cookie notices. An example is on the KSL website, where a cookie notice obscures the bottom 20 percent of the display. I know cookie notices are in response to GDPR regulations from the EUSSR, but they're still a pain in the ass.
Popups asking you to subscribe or agree to push notifications. They wipe out the display and force you to respond. Besides, if I'm visiting a website for the first time. how do I know if I want to subscribe or not? Along the same lines, popups asking me to disable my adblocker piss me off. Display more responsible ads that don't disrupt my websurfing, and I won't need an adblocker.
So what are your pet peeves?
